HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
Your request for authorization to fly into and out of Adirondack Airpark Estates will be granted for limited use (with appointment to tour the property) once you complete and sign the below "Hold Harmless Agreement."
Adirondack Airpark Estates(NY17) is a private development with about 12 lots owned by individual owners from various parts of the Northeast Region of the United States. The subdivision has a 2050' X 20' paved runway with tie down areas on the east end of the runway. A wind sock is located on the north side of the west end of the airfield. The winds generally prevail from the west and therefore RW 27 is active for most situations. CAUTION: The tree cleared area is 150', however the pavement is 20' wide and requires proficiency especially in gusty conditions. It is important to stay on the runway centerline as the sided slope off especially on the east end. RW 27 has marked power lines causing a 550' displaced threshold leaving 1500' for roll out. Should you be high and fast and overshoot the numbers GO AROUND and set yourself up for another approach. There is no taxi way, therefore be conscious of runway taxiing traffic by monitoring and announcing all intentions via the common frequency 122.8. Also, there is a ground warning beacon device that can be seen on both ends of the field activated by 5 clicks of a microphone tuned to 122.8. Activation of the beacon warning system will maintain beacon caution for approximately 17 minutes. If you feel this time is not adequate reactivate system with 5 more microphone clicks when appropriate. The runway has a .6% up slope for the first 1000' and a .6% decline during the next 1000,' it is therefor possible to not see taxiing traffic on far end of runway so be sure to always listen, announce all intentions and activate beacon device when landing or taking off.
Although the tree clear area is at least 150' and there is a ground beacon warning system, in view of the .6% runway slope, it is imperative that you make a low pass over the runway to check the wind socks and alert anyone on the ground of your impending landing. The proper call sign is "Adirondack Traffic". Announce your intentions, activate the ground beacons and call when five miles out, entering down wind, turning base and on final. When taxiing for takeoff, call, activate ground beacon warning system make sure all is clear before back taxiing on runway.
CAUTION: Off road vehicles are not authorized on the runway, in addition deer could be feeding in the grass on the west end of field and may be spooked into jumping in front of your aircraft when landing. Please be particularly alert for the presence of either animal or vehicles on or near the runway. ADIRONDACK AIRPARK ESTATES WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE WHATSOEVER FOR ANY REASON TO YOUR AIRCRAFT OR FOR THE INJURY OF ANYONE ON BOARD. YOUR AUTHORIZATION TO LAND AT THE AIRPARK HAS BEEN GRANTED BASED ON YOUR ASSUMPTION OF THE ENTIRE RESPONSIBILITY AND CONSEQUENCES OF SUCH USE. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO ASSUME THIS RESPONSIBILITY, PERMISSION FOR LANDING WILL NOT BE GRANTED.
Adirondack Airpark Estates(NY17) is located on the Montreal Sectional. Landing pattern altitude is 2350'. Field elevation is 1,352. You may call Clinton Co.(PBL) Unicom on 122.7 for a current altimeter setting. Use left hand pattern for runway 09 and right hand for runway 27. WARNING: Consult the pilots operating hand book for your aircraft to ensure your aircraft performance is more than adequate for Adirondack Airpark's 2050' runway, especially during the summer months when density altitude may become factor for your departure. If performance is calculated to be marginal, off-load weight and/or wait until more favorable wind and temperature conditions exist prior to departure. Use Clinton county airport as a alternative airport when winds and weather are questionable for a safe landing.
